Josh Nacho: Who are some of your influences?
Zakc: We are influenced by bands such as Gob, Nuclear Saturday, The Sloppy
Meateaters, Blink-182, NoFX, Showoff, Strung out, Face To Face, Allister, No
Use For A Name, The Ataris, Who Hit Who, and A New found Glory
J.N.: Who are bands that you would like to tour with?
Zakc: Damn, there is a ton, Showoff, Allister, The Ataris, Assorted Jelly
Beans, Face To Face. As well as some local bands from Atlanta, like, The
Sloppy Meateaters, Who Hit Who, Nuclear Saturday, No Cigar, and the Handicap
Kids
J.N.: What CD is in your CD player right now?
Zakc: I am listening to Gobs "How Far Shallow Takes You" Right Now. Also in
my CD player is Ne Plus Ultras "And All The Charm Is Broken"; Nuclear
Saturday's "I Am Jon Stone"; and No Cigars CD
J.N.: What do you do outside of music?
Zakc: HaHa, nothing really. I go to school. And that's about it. Go to
school, I don't have a job, so I sit around, and write new music...I am a
pretty big computer dork, so I like to make websites for people, but that's
about it for me, Music, School, Websites.
J.N.: What is your favorite part of playing live?
Zakc: I love to just be on stage, and play for people. Its just fun to have
people watch you play music. I always have a good time no matter if we are
playing good or not. Its just fun to be on stage and have people listen to
you play
J.N.: How would you describe your music to someone who has never heard it
before?
Zakc: I don't know. We have some songs that are kinda pop-punk style, but I
wouldn't call us a Pop-Punk band. We have some Hard-core Punk songs, but I
wouldn't call Us a Hard-core Punk Band. We have all sorts of styles of
songs. Some are really Pop-punk, some are real hard-core, some are skate
punk, and some are melodic punk songs. All and all, I would just say we are
an original new-school punk band. We don't sound like just one band...
J.N.: Who are some bands in the scene today that you think deserve
recognition but may not be getting it?
Zakc: Well, in the Atlanta Scene, I would have to Say Who Hit Who and The
Posers. They have been around for a long time, keep trying hard, keep making
good music, but they still just don't seem to be getting the recognition they
deserve.
J.N.: What do you think of the current music scene of the "mainstream" on a
whole? Do you ever foresee a time when MTV could be dominated by real music,
as opposed to teenage constructed faces?
Zakc: I don't think "real" music will every make it into the "mainstream".
Music like Punk, EMO and Metal will never hit the mainstream. Well, I mean,
not like, real metal. Not like KoRn and Limp Bizkit, but the underground
metal bands. I mean, think about it, its not what parents want there kids to
see. They don't want there 8-12 year old kids watching MTV, and see a video
with a guy all decked out in black leather, with long hair, face paint, and
tattoos and piercings all over themselves. They want to see people like the
Backstreet Boys and Brittany Spears, which is pretty sad because kids aren't
taught to like what they want to like. They are taught to like what there
Parents wan't them to like. Look at it this way, if you had a 9-year old, who
would you rather them listen to, Backstreet Boys, or Slayer? N'Sync or NoFX?
Brittany Spears or The Vandals? I just don't think Punk, Real Metal, or EMO
has much of a future in the Mainstream, but it might be better that way...
J.N.: What are your future plans- CD releases, tours, etc?
Zakc: We recorded 6 songs July 11th-13th. We are going to be releasing a CD
Hopefully around August 25th, once we get them all made. They will be
available threw our site, http://punxnamedbob.cjb.net. As for shows and
tours, we are basically just gona stick to playing shows in GA, maybe a
couple out of state shows...and hopefully next year we will be on this Local
Label called Slapp Records summer tour 2001. So, I dunno, hopefully we will
at least tour the southeastern states Next Summer
J.N.: Final comments... ?
Zakc: I don't have to much to say...long live teenage punk rock!
